“Everything was behind him, and ahead of him was the ragged and ecstatic joy of pure being.” Jack Kerouac wrote those words in 1957, long before I was born and began thinking about my philosophy on life, but I’ve yet to find a thought that more accurately describes my feelings towards the world.

With a backpack, a novel by Sylvia Plath, and a desire to create change, I embarked on my second mandate with Uniterra in January of this year. My newest adventure brought me to Nepal and to the Small Farmer’s Development Bank, where I use my passion for storytelling to create a platform for sharing stories of the country’s rural poor. Since arriving in Nepal, I’ve come to love the diversity this country has to offer and revel in the idea of getting to spend a whole year exploring more.
